A total of 444 students have been disappointed because of the derailment of European-Educational Funds due to the misadministration of funds by the EUPA office.
The Erasmus office informed this e-newspaper that 453 applications were submitted by University students to participate in Erasmus mobility programme during the academic year 2010-2011 and 444 were selected.
The Erasmus office also confirmed that this year, the number of participants was much greater than last year’s, as only 173 students applied during the academic year 2009-2010.
In total, Malta could benefit from an estimated seven million euro between 2007 and 2013.
The European Commission suspended the funds for the funds the Life-Long learning and Youth in Action programmes because of lack of financial assurance from Malta.
